In the Ome area in the northwestern part of Tokyo, forests cover more than 60%. Mt. Mitake and Mitake Valley are popular tourist spots. Ome City is dotted with nostalgic spots, including the Showa Retro Packaging Museum. The Okutama area, to the west of the Ome area, is an oasis of nature in Tokyo. There are many scenic spots, such as Ogouchi Reservoir (Okutama Lake), a man-made lake created by the Ogouchi Dam which blocks the Tama River, Mt. Mitake, and Hatonosu Valley, etc., and hot spring facilities nearby, so it is a place to refresh our mind and body.
