The Nakano area is a subculture town full of hidden attractions that are different from those in the Akihabara and Ikebukuro areas. Nakano Broadway is a complex building filled with shops selling rare figurines, discontinued toy cars, and old movie posters, etc. that fans frequently visit. There are many unique shops in the nearby shopping street, so the area is truly a paradise for people interested in subculture. In the Suginami area, there are many lively shopping districts. Various events are held around Koenji, Asagaya, Ogikubo, and Nishi-Ogikubo Stations. In particular, the Tanabata Festival in Asagaya and the Awa Odori Festival in Koenji are two of Tokyo’s summer traditions.
